Good Morning Country comes to 2YOU FM
Tamworth’s own community radio station is to host the national breakfast program
‘Good Morning Country’ and will broadcast from the country music capital
to audiences all around Australia.
For the first time ever, 2YOUFM 88.9 will be promoting the Tamworth Country Music Festival nationally. 2YOUFM will join forces with the Good Morning Country team to provide you with the latest festival news, interviews and give-aways. Good Morning Country is a breakfast program syndicated to community radio stations Australia-wide by the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) ComRadSat. Our community station will export the exuberance and spirit of our festival to more than 40 towns such as Port Pirie, Mount Gambier, Launceston, Goulburn, Cobar, Forbes, Kemspey, Mackay and Rockhampton.
Good Morning Country is a breakfast show that features half-hourly news, national weather, plus short comedy and commentary segments. It will be broadcast live from the studio at 20 Darling Street – the old railway gatekeeper’s cottage – from Mon 21 to Fri 26 January. Both Good Morning Country and regular 2YOUFM presenters will be on air from 5am to 9am, playing great country music to kick-start your day.
The 2YOUFM team have organised this special festival broadcast under the vigilant eye of Ken Russell and also have a special treat for the night owls amongst the locals and visitors to the Country Music Capital.
Ken said: “In addition to Good Morning Country, 2YOUFM’s dedicated volunteers will be playing upbeat party music from midnight to 5am for the whole ten days of the festival. The telephone line will be open for dedications and requests to help make the night pass in a festive mood. Call the studio on 6766 6777.â€
2YOUFM is proud to broadcast to our community and endeavours to be a valuable asset for Tamworth. Presenters and volunteers are keen to demonstrate Tamworth’s unique sense of hospitality and entertainment and to share their love of music while promoting this major community event for the city.
The station has always been fully supported by the Tamworth community and has broadcast continuously over twenty two years for up to twenty four hours each day.
