Good Morning Country hits Tamworth!
Good Morning Country, broadcast around Australia by over 50 stations over the Community Radio Network from 5 – 9 EST weekdays, is using the offices of The Independent Country Music Bulletin to broadcast live from Tamworth, from Monday 19 January until Friday 23 January, 2009.
Good Morning Country Coordinator Rod Thomas says “the offices of Independent Country Music Bulletin, beside the Regent Theatre on the corner of Kable and Brisbane Streets, are ideally located right in the heart of the daily country music scene that Tamworth is renowned for. We are delighted that we will be able to bring the spirit of Tamworth to our nationwide daily audience.â€
Independent Country Music Bulletin Editor, Bob Kirchner, pointed out that his staff were always intensely busy during the Music Festival with Musicians Headquarters, the People’s Choice Awards and The Australian Country Music Hall of Fame all being promoted by the Independent Country Music Bulletin. He says “our offices are not normally being used from 5 – 9 AM, so it’s an easy fit, and great to be able to team up with such a popular national program as Good Morning Country.â€
Recording artists are also in favour of the move. It means they have an easily located venue to tell Good Morning Country listeners where and when they are appearing and what they are planning for Australia’s premier country music event.
Good Morning Country is produced by the Community Radio Network, an initiative of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia.
CRN will broadcast live coverage of the 2009 Starmaker & Golden Guitar Awards from the Tamworth Music Festival.
